Fluffy Friends
Hi! TGIF! I'm back this week talking about my new micro (literally) obsession. After absorbing in all the fashion week's great ideas and creations around the world I have so much materials to write about. So stay tuned. Enough about that though this post is about fluff...specifically on your bag. Designer handbags are no longer stand alone pieces of luxury accessories. You can now accessorize your accessories!? Well this is not exactly and brand new trend. We've been attaching cute things like My Little Pony and Hello Kitty toys on our backpack since we were children. Nothing has changed, it's still a great way to give bags your personalities be it through tassels, pom poms or mascots. It can bring a plain bag to life or a way of updating an old handbag. Beware these furry friends on the runway like Fendi's Karlito and Monsters don't come cheap!

Festival Guide
Coachella may have been and gone in LA but here in London summer is just getting started! My favourite season is almost here and I'm sure many of you have plans for music festivals whether here or abroad. Here are my festival guide/ideas for this festival season. I have no doubt you will be seeing all the cool kids in 90's everything! Nineties grunge, pretty, rave or urban..whatever suits your persona. There will be mini hair buns, Bindis, elastic chokers, crop tops, basically anything Gwen Stefani would wear in her No Doubt days. Pastel hair and hair chalk will probably make another comeback from last year and if Coachella is any indication expect to see kimono jackets, tribal jewellery and the all time festive staple, fringing.
When it comes to music festivals practicality is key. There's a lot of dancing, sitting in fields and multiple trips to scuzzy portable loos. Its mostly outdoors so there's no predicting the weather. Don't be fooled by what the celebs wear at festival as most likely they have VIP areas where things are very very different. I've compiled a mood board below, some Do's and Don't tips and some inspiration pieces for this year's summer of music and fun. Don't worry I got cha ☼☀😌
Festival Do's
Do your hair up, yes I'm talking to you dancing hair flickers! Braids are a good idea to keep hair off your face (and others) for when its hot, sweaty and its low maintenance for an all day event. Head scarfs are great for hiding messy or greasy hair, there's many ways to tie it an be sure to get a fun pattern. I'm all for pastels hair its young fun and fresh and doesn't have to be permanent. Hat its great for sun cover up a chic trilby or an edgy cap. Make up can be as crazy as you like…its only a few times in a year you can wear glitter and crazy fake lashes without looking too strange. Make sure to bring lip balm or lipgloss for a top-up. Wear comfortable clothes and simple layers, like a jacket or shirt you can wear if its cold or tie around your waist. Rain coat is becoming popular, get a clear pvc or bold colour waterproof parka for a nod to the nineties. Body con dresses, tunics, and shorts are my go to shapes as I find them less of a hassle than jeans or leggings. Choose light fabric that won't wrinkle and be bold and expressive with pattens and colours. Pack your bags well but keep it small to the essentials. My essentials are money, ID, lip balm, tickets, phone, tissues, wipes and perfume (last three are portable loos' survival kit). Those would normally fit in a bumbag. If you have more stuff then bring a backpack or cross body bag so you can have your hands free. Comfortable footwear is important, consider the terrain, if its muddy wear wellies and if its dusty or dirty you would be safer with trainers. Remember to keep well hydrated and remember to eat….umm festival food is like the main attraction really.
Festival Don't
If you want to avoid looking basic and falling into the clichés then here are few examples of stuff to avoid. Cut-off denim shorts, no matter if they're ombre, studded, painted or whatever custom job has been done to it….its still same same. Flower crowns and indian head dress, Ahh every year, I know its pretty and what girl doesn't like flowers in their hair? Exactly that, every teen will be doing it so resist the temptation. I know I have mentioned 90's is in but avoid the obvious referencing like Bindis, tied plaid shirt, hair twists and chokers. If you must do 90's maybe try neon fluff, iridescent or metallic fabric or kitchy sequin design (like Jeramy Scott's Fall 11 collection). White is also in but I wound't because its likely to get dirty. If you're pale SPF is a must for all day sun exposure. No fake piercings, bikinis, excessive feathers and fringing and things that are too long and frilly. I'm on the fence about unitard and one-piece, one hand it seems easy but on the other hand you will need to be complete naked to use the toilet…basically consider avoiding things you will have trouble going to the toilet in confined space in. Nothing too valuable, vintage Chanel will have to stay at home. Heels and or open toe shoes are not a wise choice unless you're not planning to move much or don't mind your toes being used as floor cushions. Don't bring bulky bags or backpack that will obstruct other people from having a good time. And the most important don't is: Don't take it too seriously! Have fun and don't care too much about what people think. Wear whatever gets you into the party mood and own it!

7 Key Trends Report : Autumn/Winter 14
This season is all about cosiness that will warm both our hearts and wardrobes. Get ready to ward off winter with cocoon silhouette, cosy knits, blankets and fur coats. Or stand out in shimmering, clean lines and sixties inspiration pieces. Mini-skirts,
trapeze dresses, Mary-Janes and pastel colors paid
tribute to the baby doll style
Swinging Sixties of Twiggy, Penelope Tree and Jane Birkin. Some runway were mad for plaid like Delpozo, Tommy Hilfiger and Vera Wang. I will also do a separate post on Maxi Coats which were also the running theme this season.
One of the most prominent trends for Winter was the comfy soft, all over wool, polo neck and matching scarves, as seen at Stella McCartney, Temperley and Céline. This trend works best in neutral tones. The trend is oversized or relaxed fit, matchy seperates is key whether in colour or pattern. Grey, burnt orange and earthy greens are a hit. Slinky ribbed trousers reigned at Marc Jacobs and Celine, Mark Fast and Calvin Klein create knitted culottes and few others like Micheal Kors, Helmut Lang and edun layer pleated medi skirts underneath.
New IT knit is knotted on the neck like Derek Lam and Prabal Gurung, rolled neck were seen on every runway and the micro trend were the super long sleeves. Note to the nineties grunge where the sleeves were pulled pass the fingers to give a slouchy carefree cool (rad). It's the Normcore knit that you will see all the fashion bloggeres wear. Wear it untucked with fitted pants and long line coat for an effortless street casual.
These poncho-like blankets thrown over shoulders refer to African tribe or Indian outfits. But this season has a more British country chic vibe, Christopher Bailey mastered the art at Burberry, draping cashmere scarves over his famous trenches before giving every model her own personalised poncho for the finale. Layer upon layer of throws and capes, this is surely most effective way to stay super cosy this winter.
As the previes trends states, we really like to stay in on our sofas covered in duvets and be snug comes winter but since going outside is unavoidable. Who has never thought about commuting in duvets? The coat robe is you solution. Tory Berch took literal sense of bath robes with side tie bows. Christian Siriano brought a nubby, textured blanket to wearable form. Chloe, Maxmara and The Row took tailored thick wool to chic with a belt casually slung around the waist, while Richard Chai, Altuzarra and Peter Som turned comfort into coats with contrast belts. All Clinched in at the waist to accentuate feminine shapes while exuding a laid-back luxury vibe.
This trend is less disco sparkle more futuristic shimmery. There are minimal sequins and beading, the shine comes from the fabric itself. The metallic has a glossy finish that becomes iridescent but the dark muted tones brings a modern sophistication rather than 'spacey' aesthetic. The sheen clings to the body making this a perfect piece for evening wear, alluring and not over the top illustrated at Douglas Hannant, Iris Van Herpen and Sarapol.
Long gloves are one of the most impeccably chic accessories to evening looks and not to mention greatly practical. The longer and the brighter the better. Colourful leather ones are the It-accessory of the season. Stripes at Dior, vibrant and scrunched at Rochas, femme fetale long satin at Tome and jewel encrusted at Dolce & Gabbana. The perfect way to draw attention while hailing a taxi or ordering drinks at the bar. Pair with quarter sleeves coat and flowing dress.
As well as oversized outerwear, designers displayed gigantic accessories ranging from scarves to huge hats and long gloves. So where else is there left to go...well you can't leave your shoulders cold. Balenciaga, Tory Burch and Celine sport luxe hand warmers but the new thing I'm seeing is shoulder warmers. This charming, if somewhat old fashioned accessory returns from oblivion this season in a variety of presentation and textures. Presented as capelets and shoulder toppers at Thakoon, draped one shoulder fur at Marni and Marques Almeida, off the shoulder muff at Lavin and knitted shoulder wrap at Acne.

Big Bird Wants His Coat Back!
It's fall fashion week so no doubt there would be fur. This year its the super coats, it's voluminous, faux fur, shearling, teddy and luxe feathers. If you only buy one thing for the new season, it must be a statement fur coat. I haven't seen this much fur since sesame street!
Luxe feathers like the ones below are not my favourite trends as I do not promote real fur. But these crazy fur coats must be like traveling around in a warm cloud. Explosive volumes were seen at Saint Laurent, Roberto Cavalli and Alexander McQueen. Ralph Lauren and Ralph Rucci keep their outerwear light in softest feathery cape coat while Dolce and Gabbana and Fendi work the eskimo hood.
Shearling is king, the season's most-used fabric. Gucci delivered double breasted sheepskin jackets in pastels sixties downtown cool, while Miu Miu layered over raincoat and sporty school girl silhouette. The furry, fuzzy teddy faux fur brings a modern take to shearling, Erdem and Bottega translate them into chic dresses. The pallet is kept pale, nude or monochrome like at Akris.
Fur Trim. If all over fur is not your thing then fur trim should surely do the trick, coloured stripes accentuate the seams and give it a
graphic quality. It has been prevalent in every
city and in various ways. Prada gave us Del Boy-style oversize jackets while
Chloé kept it slightly more subtle with fuzz trimmed booties. George Styler and Christopher Kane (dreaming of this coat) kept their pink shearling, on cuffs and collars contrast with black patent fabrics. Most designers concentrate on big lapels to showcase their furry trims.
Griphic Faux. Designers look to geometry, sourcing inspirations and experiment though grids and patchwork. Chic assemble of patchwork in a variety of textures at Roksanda Illincic and topshop, and nipped waist grid coats at Daks and Altuzara. Quirky designs were seen at Carven, Tusumori and Pucci. Astrakhan fabric in addition to multicoloured fur also being presented at Miu Miu, Jason Wu, and Christian Dior.

The Foil Trend
It's all about shining bright in foil fabric for spring/summer, the coloured metallic trend noticed since last year on the catwalk for designers such as Burberry Prorsum, Dior and Jonathan Saunders has stuck around with all sorts of garments filtering into this year in a mixture of rainbow shades. Which was full of glamour and energy striking out with the use of rhinestones palette. Precious mineral tones like green beetle, sapphire, emerald, bronze, quartz, and ruby shimmers like opening a box of Quality Street sweets.

Burberry Prorsum has succeeded in maintaining their signature British heritage of their iconic trench coat, while bringing contemporary designs with high-tech materials expressed such versatility. I've been wanting to do a post on this collection for awhile now, though I'm glad I waited, as this fall 14 there were even foiling to embrace. The trend should not be mistaken though for just metallic or shimmery sequins. It shines a whole lot brighter, bolder, slicker, waxier with a foil like quality that rustles and crackles as it moves.

Moody Florals
We are use to seeing floral trend during the Spring/Summer runway but this time we spotted florals earlier this year on the fall runway since February. This is because this floral trend has reinvent a dark twist, which will be perfect for this winter. Its lush bloom colour pallet of deep purple, burnt orange, dark red on blacken silks and chiffon giving us a romantic autumn vibe. The look is organic and dark with a hint of flesh (in both sheer and cut outs) and the florals are delicate and soft in perfect balance with each other to create an elegant feminine silhouette. Erdem chose to scatter their darker florals with lemon yellow and red spots, Lanvin and Giambattista Valli went graphics with their florals while Oscar De La Renta and Mulberry look to tapestry for their inspirations. Valentino and Vera Wang opted for a vintage style with Valentino using embroidery on lace and Vera Wang with shiny prints on satin, both leaving the floral to speak for itself. The trend works for both masculine and feminine style. Pair it with leather jacket and boots with stained lips like Givenchy for a tougher look. Or channel moody femme fatale with middle parting hair, messy brows and nude glossy lips like Valentino.
